GREAT REVIEW

A great success, with full houses and high praise from the critic in the newspaper Adresseavisen following the premiere of "Nattfolket" in Trondheim.

– Opera itself is probably regarded by many as rather “niche”. "Nattfolket" is a good example of the opposite.
With humour, strong characters and a clear environmental message, Knut Vaage and Bjørn Sortland succeed in creating a family opera that engages audiences young and old. The music is vibrant and closely connected to the action throughout, the humour provides welcome relief, and the plot is imaginative and just the right amount of magical, writes reviewer Kai Kristiansen in Adresseavisen on Monday 5 October.

The premiere took place on Saturday 6 June 2026 at Cornerteateret in Bergen, and after Trondheim, the opera will travel on to Oslo and the Norwegian National Opera & Ballet in January 2027.
