The plan is to cut down the forest and build holiday cabins. The young people Ciril and Noah take up the fight to save the forest and everyone who lives there.\n\nBut animals are not the only inhabitants of the forest. The Nattfolket \u2013 half bird, half human-like creatures \u2013 also live there, in a kind of magical universe. Everyone in Nattfolket loves to sing and imitate sounds. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">They are shy and have a fondness for things from days gone by. Few people know they exist.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The only weapon the Nattfolket have is a witch who can take away people\u2019s singing voices, making life miserable for the humans. And then there are Noah and Ciril, who seek help from none other than the Queen herself in the capital. <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The opera blends a wide range of styles and references from the history of opera, such as Mozart\u2019s&nbsp;<em>Tryllefl\u00f8yten&nbsp;<\/em>and Bizets&nbsp;<em>Carmen<\/em> \u2013 as well as well-known Norwegian children\u2019s songs, pop music, contemporary music and playful rhythmic twists. The story is both serious and humorous \u2013 a bird opera that speaks up for nature. The opera is written by Knut Vaage and Bj\u00f8rn Sortland, who are also behind the series...&nbsp;<em>*The Art Detectives*<\/em>&nbsp;and&nbsp;<em>Mission<\/em>\u2013 the series about secret agent Johnny 777.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">On stage is a strong cast from Tr\u00f8ndelag, featuring performers including Eldrid Gorset, Maia Reppe and H\u00e5vard Stensvold.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The opera is a national collaboration between Bergen National Opera, the Norwegian National Opera &amp; Ballet, and Trondheim Symphony Orchestra &amp; Opera.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>In September the opera <a href=\"https:\/\/knutvaage.com\/en\/nattfolket-nominert-til-kritikerpris\/\"><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-amber-color\">Nattfolket was nominated for the Norwegian Critics\u2019 Association\u2019s annual award<\/mark><\/a> honouring outstanding artistic achievements, as selected by Norway\u2019s community of critics.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><\/p>","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Den eventyrlige familieoperaen spilles fredag 2. og l\u00f8rdag 3. oktober p\u00e5 Rosendal Teater.
